About us

Bright Future Community helps people build brighter futures through education, opportunity, resources, and skill development.

Bright Future Community sprouted from a grassroots effort 15 years ago, sparked by neighbors determined to make quality education and solid career paths the norm in Far Rockaway. What began as a modest volunteer project meeting in borrowed classrooms and church basements has flourished into a community powered hub that now offers state-of-the-art training labs, financial literacy workshops, career placement services, and family support programs. Every new class and partnership is shaped by local voices, ensuring our work grows in lockstep with the neighborhood’s evolving needs and aspirations. Yet our founding conviction remains unchanged: equip people with the right tools, encouragement, and opportunities, and an entire community will rise higher than outside help alone could ever lift it.

We provide youth and adults with the tools and resources needed to achieve economic prosperity through our comprehensive, integrated programs:

We know Far Rockaway has the talent; we’re just here to provide the bridge. Since our launch, we’ve focused on three core pillars:

Connection: Building a local network where neighbors help neighbors.
Access: Bringing employers and essential services directly to your doorstep.
Growth: Removing the financial barriers to education with sponsored classes in every field.

"To build a stronger Far Rockaway, we don't just find jobs, we build the pathways that lead to them."

A Message from Our Founder

Rev. Dr Les Mullings

Far Rockaway isn’t just a spot on the map, it’s the dream I wake up to every morning. Watching our neighborhood blossom into one of New York’s brightest corners has only strengthened my resolve to ensure each new success lifts the neighbors who already call it home. My life’s work is built on a timeless formula: secure housing, quality education, and practical skills are the foundations of a flourishing community. Put the right tools in people’s hands, and they’ll rise together, hand in hand.

That belief is the heartbeat of Bright Future Community, guiding every decision we make and every partnership we build. Thank you for sharing this vision with us. May Far Rockaway keep shining one home, one classroom, one career, and one caring heart at a time. I’m honored to be part of this journey.
